 When buying a puppy

(not just from us but from ANY kennel & this applies to all breeds)

  • Make sure you see the puppies with their mother
  • If the father is not available ask to see pictures
  • The environment the puppies are raised in should be clean & pups should appear bright eyed & bushy tailed
  • Ask the breeder about any health issues within the breed & specifically any health issues in stock they have previously bred
  • Ask the breeder to see pictures of puppies they have previously bred
& if you can have contact details of any of their puppy owners
  • NEVER buy a puppy because you feel sorry for it, contact our breed rescue or any of the breeders on my 'links' page.
  • Expect to be asked to sign a contract of sale outlining your responsibility as a purchaser & the breeders responsibility.
  • If the breeder has stated the parents are hipscored you should be provided with a copy of the BVA certificates
  • Puppies should come with feeding instructions & some information on training, socialising & how to address any problems you may encounter

All of the puppies we breed will always be very special to us. In fact of the 36 puppies we have bred to date, we hear from just over 30 owners on a very regular basis - affectionately known as our puppy stalkers!
To ensure their welfare, puppies will come with a puppy contract, a puppy pack & food.
We will offer support & advice for the lifetime of the pup & will always accept puppies back, where possible,
should an owner's circumstances change.

As with any dog, prospective owners should read up on potential health issues & traits of the breed they are considering. It is always helpful to try & visit adult dogs of that breed, as the 8 week old Saint pup that sleeps in a nook or cranny can be a complete Health & Safety nightmare at 12 stone & wedged across the narrow hallway of your average semi!!!
If you are interested in either a Saint puppy, please email to join the waiting list. Please don't be offended by what can seem like searching questions - we aim to ensure that all of our babies are placed in suitable loving homes.
We can answer questions you may have about the logistics of living with Saints & if we don't know, we will know someone who does!!

Our puppies may be available for export in special circumstances, please contact me for further details.
All Kennel Club papers will carry endorsements not to be bred from.
These maybe lifted under certain circumstances which will be discussed with the owner .
